Actual Madrid defender to overlook the second leg in opposition to Chelsea
real Madrid suffered a major setback before the narrow semi-finals of the Champions League Chelsea. Center-back Raphael Varane will miss the second leg of the Chelsea game following an injury.
The 28-year-old defender played the full 90 minutes in the first leg, which ended 1-1. It even started Real’s weekend The league Game against Cadiz. But at half time he hobbled away with uneasiness in his leg.
The real manager Zinedine Zidane hoped Varane would be able to play at Stamford Bridge. However, the club officially announced that Varane had sustained an injury to his right abduction muscle, ultimately excluding him from the second leg.
Zidane now faces a selection dilemma against Chelsea. To make matters worse, the story opposes them coming into play. Real have not scored any victories in the last four away games against English opponents in the Champions League and only scored two goals.

Selection dilemma for Zidane:
Real have a number of injury concerns in the Chelsea game. Zidane will certainly do without Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez, with the latter reportedly out for the remainder of the season. There will also be a late fitness test for left-back Ferland Mendy, who missed the last few games.
They are also waiting to find out if Federico Valverde will be available for the game. The Uruguayan tested positive for coronavirus, which is why he missed the first leg. But he’s back in training.
Left-back Marcelo should be available despite being called up for election service. Eden Hazard could also appear against his former staff when he started the league game against Cadiz.
Zidane could also have club captain Sergio Ramos available for the game. The Spanish defender returned to full training last week. But he hasn’t played a role since his injury in international service with Spain at the end of March. Even so, Zidane will do without a strong team against Chelsea.

Chelsea benefit from Varane’s absence?
Real took a bad blow when Varane was excluded from the game. But they should not be written off. Without the French defender in the Champions League, they have already done reasonably well this season.
Nacho and Eder Militao started both legs against Liverpool in the quarter-finals when Real won the 3-1 draw. The duo were very solid in both legs and kept Liverpool’s attack steady for the majority of the draw. Their outstanding defensive performance earned them a clean sheet at Anfield and booked Real’s ticket for the semifinals of the competition. If Ramos fails the fitness test, Nacho and Militao should start defending.
The blues also have injury problems. Playmaker Mason Mount hobbled away in the second half of his weekend Premier League win Fulham. The Englishman rattled Fulham’s midfielder Mario Lemina and stayed down before being assisted by the club’s medical team.
Manager Thomas Tuchel also confirmed that midfielder Mateo Kovacic will miss the game due to an injury, which also kept him out of the first leg. Central defender Antonio Rüdiger will be available with the help of a protective mask.
