Arsenal linked with a transfer for Paul Onuachu
Arsenal have been linked with a move for RC Genk striker Paul Onuachu.
The Nigerian striker has been in impressive form this season, with 32 goals and three assists in all competitions.
Apparently the Belgian club could try to take advantage of him this summer and the player is worth € 30m.
The report of Soccer Belgium adds that the striker plans to go to the Premier League this summer.
It will be interesting to see if Arsenal make an offer for the striker this summer.
Alexandre Lacazette has been linked with a move from the London club in recent months and Mikel Arteta would have to bring in a quality replacement if the Frenchman opts to move.
Onuachu, 26, is at the peak of his strength and a proven goalscorer. The Nigerian could start alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe next season.
The asking price seems to be quite reasonable for a player who has scored more than 30 goals this season. Additionally, the player’s desire to join Arsenal could ease the transfer process.
Onuachu is untested in a top European league and it might be a gamble for the Gunners, but they are unlikely to find a proven 30-goal striker this summer, especially without the offer of Champions League football.
It remains to be seen if the Londoners can negotiate and lower the price for the player if they are genuinely interested in his services.
