Atalanta vs Milan Could 23, 2021 Match Preview and Stats

Stefano Pioli’s Milanese team will have to travel to Bergamo on the last day of the season and must win against Atalanta to consolidate Champions League football.

The Rossoneri took the chance to guarantee qualification after a 0-0 draw with Cagliari in San Siro and now know that only one win will get them through.

Atalanta has already qualified for the Champions League next season but is successful after Coppa Italia’s final defeat to Juventus in the middle of the week.

Milan are still without Zlatan Ibrahimovic but the striker is believed to be on the bench as a cheerleader as he is unable to play minutes.

Rafael Leao was able to get the nod to play at the time of the Milan attack, with Ante Rebic having doubts after a blow he suffered.

Gianluigi Donnarumma is protected by Fikayo Tomori, Simon Kjaer, Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez.

Pioli has also already selected his midfield for the crunch duel. Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer are both fit and ready to play.

In the attacking positions, Milan are likely to go with Alexis Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz and Hakan Calhanoglu, who may play his last game for the club as he has not yet signed a contract extension.

With doubts about Rebic and Ibrahimovic, Leao, who has struggled in a more central position this season, is likely to start at the front.

Atalanta, meanwhile, are under no pressure as they have already achieved a top four result.

La Dea was defeated by Juventus on Wednesday in the final of the Coppa Italia, the second final defeat in three years, and wants to remedy the situation against Milan.

Gian Piero Gasperini will start his strongest team with left-back Robin Gosens the only real doubt.

Pierluigi Gollini starts in the gate. In front of him are likely Rafael Toloi, Cristian Romero and Berat Djimsiti.

In midfield, Marten De Roon and Remo Freuler will take the central positions in midfield. Hans Hateboer will play on the right and Gosens on the left if he passes a late fitness test.

Ruslan Malinovskyi will play in No. 10 right behind strikers Luis Muriel and Duvan Zapata.
