Barcelona return on settlement with Man Metropolis defender Eric Garcia
Many suspect that Eric Garcia was due to return to Barcelona in the summer after his contract with Man City expired, and there have even been reports indicating that this has already been agreed:

It’s a signature that would just make so much sense. He is a former Barca youth player so he would return home, they need a long term replacement for Gerard Pique and he has a ton of potential so it can be seen that he will be a stone in their defense for years to come.
Unfortunately, it now looks like there are problems with the deal. Marca report that Barca cannot live up to an earlier offer.
It is believed that there was an agreement in principle about 12 months ago, so it looked like a mere formality where he would agree to terms and conditions over the summer and sign it for free.

Unfortunately, their financial situation is worse than expected and it is now suggested that they had to resort to this original offer and they have asked him to get a lower salary instead.
This is all up in the air right now as he is about to return, but it doesn’t sound like he’s willing to accept these terms so it opens the door for other teams to step in with an appropriate offer.
