Chelsea all in favour of a swap deal for Achraf Hakimi
Inter Milan will be at the center of the negotiations in this transfer window. The club has decided to sell some of its star players to raise funds and pay off a £ 80 million debt. Chelsea Clubs want to take advantage of this, among other things.
Achraf Hakimi is one of the players who are most likely to leave the club. Hakimi was happy at Inter but things changed after Conte left. PSG and Chelsea are now the front runners in the race for Hakimi.
Hakimi, who can play on either side of a defensive system, has drawn a lot of attention. Thomas Tuchel, who is tall in the 3-4-2-1 formation, would like to have a player like Hakimi available.
Hakimi played in everyone A league Game for Inter Milan. That certainly shows how much Antonio Conte trusted the player. He has 7 goals and 11 assists in 45 games for the I Nerazzurri. These are not stats that you would associate with a defensive player.
Whatever the gameplay, Hakimi is very aggressive forward and can easily be used as a right or left midfielder. PSG were reportedly the top contender, but now Chelsea are also throwing their hats in the ring.
Chelsea have a slight advantage over PSG in certain areas. The club are ready to offer Andreas Christensen and Emerson Palmieri a swap deal for Hakimi as Inter turned down Chelsea’s first offer.
Chelsea plans a swap deal with Christensen and Emerson:
Inter Milan have apparently rejected offers from Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea for Hakimi. Both PSG and Chelsea have put in an offer of € 60m (£ 51.5m) for the Moroccan international, according to Metro reports.
However, Inter Milan holds a price of 80 million euros (68.7 million pounds) for the 22-year-old. Inter know they have to pay off the debt by the end of the month. However, a swap deal will be beneficial to the club in order to maintain balance in the squad.
Inter Milan are champions of Italy and there are certain expectations of the club now. You could ask for Emerson or Christensen, or maybe even both, in exchange for Hakimi. But involving both players will greatly reduce the fee, which doesn’t work for Inter.
The club may even decide to sell Hakimi if either party gets a better offer. In fact, Inter would prefer a high-priced offer for Hakimi to relieve some of the club’s financial burdens.
If we were to look at Chelsea’s offer from Inter’s perspective, Christensen would certainly be a better option. He has appeared more regularly for Thomas Tuchel and his transfer value is close to £ 30million which still ensures a decent payout for Inter Milan.
Chelsea also have the lure of being Champions League winners, which could be a factor in Hakimi’s decision. PSG, on the other hand, are building a dynasty with Kylian Mbappe. It will be very interesting to see who will emerge victorious from this race.
