A selection of Chelsea fans on Twitter praised Mason Mount after his impressive performance against Porto in the Champions League last night.

The Blues traveled to Seville for the quarter-finals away game and secured a 2-0 triumph thanks to goals from Mason and Ben Chilwell.

The game was not easy despite the goal line and the giants from West London had to work hard for victory with just three shots on goal in 90 minutes.

Mount opened the scoring for the Blues in the 32nd minute of the competition. He took control of the Jorginho Pass with a terrific twist to outsmart Chancel Mbemba.

The England international then released a first shot for the lower left corner, which defeated the diving goalkeeper.

The Blues doubled their lead five minutes to go when Chilwell pounced on a defensive mistake from Jesus Corona.

The left full-back showed good composure as he circled the shot stopper before tapping into an empty net with his weaker right foot.

The win gave the Blues a significant pre-home advantage, and some fans were delighted with Mount’s portrayal.

I have to say Mount has proven me wrong lately and I absolutely love it. He played fantastic under Tuchel and I can definitely see that his game is rising to the same level with Tuchel as manager. I’m happy for him

The 22-year-old was previously criticized by some fans for not being able to use his scoring chances.

However, he has improved significantly since coach Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard as head coach in January.

He has scored five goals under the German, and four of them have come to the league where he helped the club collect five points.

Mount is fast becoming an undisputed starter for the club and country, and the future looks bright for the midfielder who came through the youth of the Blues.

Both Mount and Chilwell scored their first Champions League goals last night.
