Chelsea have dealt “large psychological blow” to Manchester Metropolis forward of Champions League last, says Blues legend
Chelsea legend Alan Hudson believes the club’s 2-1 Premier League win over Manchester City yesterday could be crucial in preparing for the meeting in the Champions League final later this month.
The Blues took a late win at Etihad Stadium yesterday thanks to a goal from Marcos Alonso and it meant City had to wait a little longer to be crowned Premier League champions.
Pep Guardiola’s body language certainly didn’t look good as he responded to Chelsea’s winning goal on death, and Hudson believes this means Thomas Tuchel will sleep easier before his big game in Istanbul.

“This has been a major psychological blow to Pep and his players who, compared to Chelsea, saw the end of their season when Chelsea were just getting started,” Hudson told CaughtOffside.
“I said they would be unbeaten in the three remaining games against City and apart from one disastrous game two minutes before half they won with ease.
“Sergio Aguero’s penalty was just as important as Edouard Mendy’s fantastic save in front of Karim Benzema. That one moment that changes the course of a game.
“In the days before the big one, Tuchel will sleep much better than Pep. I think that says it all. All of a sudden, Pep has to think twice about how to break Chelsea. “
