Chelsea might rival Arsenal for Bayern star who’s been instructed he can go away at no cost
Bitter rivals Chelsea and Arsenal could face each other this summer to sign Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.
The 32-year-old has been with the reigning European champions for a decade, but has learned that his contract will not be renewed and may expire this summer.
So says the sports director of the German club, Hasan Salihamidzic, who confirms the news amid ties to Chelsea and Arsenal.
About Bundesliga News he said to Sky: “[Allowing Boateng’s contract to run out this summer] was a joint decision of the club management and the coach was also involved.
“I explained it to Jerome and he was very understanding.”

As the Metro reported, citing the reliable German outlet BILD, Boateng was on the shortlist of Chelsea and Arsenal last summer.
