Crystal Palace eager on ex-Liverpool loanee Ozan Kabak

Crystal Palace are in the running to sign former Liverpool loanee Ozan Kabak, according to The Guardian’s Ed Aarons.

Kabak signed a short-term loan deal for Liverpool in January, with Jurgen Klopp desperately in need of reinforcement at the center-back after both Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez suffered end-of-season injuries.

While the Turk had the opportunity to start for Liverpool shortly after arriving, he quickly found himself among the substitutes, with Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams forming an unlikely solid partnership.

Liverpool finished third, signed Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig and left Kabak behind. The 21-year-old returned to Schalke with his country after an unsuccessful Euro 2020 season.

After the relegation of Schalke to the second German division, that would have been a small relegation for Kabak, which will certainly aim to leave the club before the end of the transfer period.

Before moving to Anfield, he was considered one of the most promising young center-backs in the Bundesliga, so someone should be ready to attack him, especially since The Athletic reports that his prize is only £ 8.5million.

According to Ed Aarons of the Guardian, Crystal Palace could be that club. Patrick Vieira’s side recently welcomed Chelsea’s Marc Guehi but are now set to target Kabak as well.

Understand that Crystal Palace is one of several clubs interested in a permanent deal for Ozan Kabak, who was on loan at Liverpool last season. Also interest from other Premier League teams like Leicester and clubs in Germany and Spain. Schalke are expected to charge around £ 12million

Palace allowed a number of aging high earners to leave at the end of the season after their contracts expired. That gave them the opportunity to completely refresh their squad.

It seems like an opportunity they’d like to take advantage of. Michael Olise (19) and Marc Guehi (21) were among the top performers in the championship last season and both signed up for Vieira’s project at Selhurst Park.

Could Kabak (21) be the newest player to see a successful future with the Eagles on the horizon?
