Dortmund points Sancho message to chasing Chelsea
Chelsea goal Jadon Sancho impresses, according to Hans-Joachim Watzke, CEO of Borussia Dortmund, without the pressure of transfer talks.
It’s no secret that Sancho was the number one transfer target for the top clubs during the summer transfer window, but no deal could be reached for the winger as his price was way too high.
Sancho got off to a sluggish start to the 2020/21 season after being heavily linked to a move to the giants of the Premier League, but has started doing his best since the turn of the year.
The England international scored his 10th goal of the season in a 4-0 win at Schalke on Saturday and also prepared a performance by Erling Haaland. Watzke was happy that it showed its “unbelievable quality” again after a test phase.
Watzke said of Sport 1: “Jadon is doing very well at the moment, he’s back. But that was only a matter of time. All transfer talks in summer have already been forgotten.
“Edin [Terzic] talked to him a lot. Jadon has shown again in the last few weeks what incredible quality he has. We are very happy that he is playing for us. “
Sancho has two years left to fulfill his current contract at Dortmund and although speculation about his future has subsided in recent months, rumors of a possible move to the Premier League have already started.
So it will be interesting to see what happens to the hidden future in the next transmission window.
