Dortmund reject Werner plus money for Haaland
According to Football Insider, Borussia Dortmund has rejected a player-plus-cash proposal including Timo Werner for striker Erling Haaland.
Werner was supposed to be the solution to Chelsea’s goalscoring problems, but it didn’t turn out to be such despite the fact that the Blues won the Champions League.
Hence, one has to assume that Chelsea will switch to another striker this summer, with Erling Haaland an obvious target.
According to Football Insider, Chelsea tried to get Haaland through the door via a partial swap deal with Werner, who only joined the club last summer.

The report claims that Chelsea were willing to use Werner as Makeweight on a deal to sign Haaland, but that proposal was rejected by Dortmund.
Dortmund’s stance seems to be that Haaland won’t be leaving this summer and with Jadon Sancho already sold it’s easy to see why.
As for Werner, if the report is correct, it is not a great show of confidence from the club or its manager that they are willing to dismiss it in this way.
However, it would give him an even bigger point to prove when he returns to Chelsea training with Germany after attending Euro 2020.
