Fabrizio Romano praises transfers for Ozan Kabak and Odegaard
Nobody wants to lose one of their best players in the winter transfer window, so this generally boils down to loans and the termination of contracts from players who do not have a long-term future at the club.
There will always be bargains that can give a team an enormous boost in the second half of the season. So it was interesting to see which movements Fabrizio Romano rates as the best of the window.
His first pick was the deal where Arsenal loaned Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid and he praises Edu for closing the deal when Real were reluctant to let him go.
He has made a positive start to life at The Emirates as his creativity on the ball has brought a new dimension to midfield. If he continues to impress, there could even be a call for a permanent contract in the summer.

He also mentions Liverpool who managed to sign Ozan Kabak on loan from Schalke with an option to buy and it looks like a good deal considering how desperate they have been.
We often see teams going into panic attacks in this situation (see Ben Davies) that don’t make sense in the long run but Romano suggests Liverpool have been following Kabak for months so this was a deal that was necessary but also Termwert could deliver some long.
Time will tell if both players can build on their positive starts, but it comes as no surprise if they extend those stays beyond the summer because of their initial contributions.
