(Footage) Bride and groom go to Champions League qualifier in full marriage ceremony gear earlier than feasting on banquet of “tacky balls”
Two special guests added a touch of glamor to Tuesday’s Champions League qualifier between Lincoln Red Imps and CFR Cluj.
Fans at the Victoria Stadium in Gibraltar were shocked to see a newly married couple among the crowd, with both the bride and groom still dressed into their nineties in otherwise unkempt surroundings.
Both the bride and groom were sung about by fellow fans as they headed to their seats in the first half before the newlyweds mingled with the off-floor players full-time.
A fan, Ben Horlock, recorded a video of the groom, a Romanian named Stefan, who is visibly enjoying his moment in the spotlight.
Horlock shared the footage on Twitter along with the caption: “If you get married at 3 but the Champions League runs at 6. Priorities.”

Horlock later spoke to CaughtOffside and said, “It was a pretty good game in terms of quality. But the real highlight of the evening was seeing the newlyweds in all their glory draw the attention of a lively crowd.
“The groom left the stadium at halftime and returned from the local garage with two handfuls of chips, including at least three bags of cheese balls … If this isn’t a bride’s dream wedding day, I don’t know what is!”
On the pitch, the Romanian team Cluj won 2-1 and took the lead thanks to a brace from Gabriel Debeljuh after Marco Rosa Blanco gave the hosts a stylish lead.
QPR fan Horlock, who works in Gibraltar and went to the game as a neutral with a £ 5 ticket, added: “I talked to groom Stefan after the game and even took a selfie.
“He seemed like a really great guy and they both looked very happy. However, Stefan told me that he was a fan of Steaua Bucharest so he wanted Cluj to lose. I guess you can’t have it all. He got cheesy eggs and married the love of his life. Two out of three are not bad! “
