Former FC Barcelona defender Dani Alves needs to compete in 2022 World Cup for Brazil
Despite being 37 years old, former Barcelona FC Dani Alves shows that age is nothing more than a number.
Alves continues to be an impressive player in one of the most famous Brazilian clubs, São Paulo FC. Even though his European career is over, Alves still has plans to play for the Brazilian national team.
The Copa America is this summer and the 37-year-old wants to play for his country. In addition, Alves intends to take part in this event for his South American country with the 2022 FIFA World Cup next year.

Still, it will be up to Brazil’s manager Tite to call him. Alves is currently not on the provisional squad for Copa America or World Cup qualifiers, but that could change with potential injuries leading up to the event.
In an interview with The Guardian (via ESPN Brazil), the defender, who had spent time in various major clubs across Europe, spoke about participating in another World Cup.
“The World Cup is a dream that I will not give up. I will fight to keep myself at a high level and have this last experience with the national team. This is my challenge, ”said Alves.
“It’s not just a dream. I will compete. Now it’s time to work and build. What motivates me are competition and dreams. As long as I live I’ll fight for my dreams. “
