How Tottenham may line up in opposition to Wolfsberg
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is likely to give some of his fringe players minutes for this week’s Europa League clash against Wolfsberger.
In the first leg between the two teams a week ago, Spurs scored a comfortable 4-1 win thanks to goals from Heung-min Son, Gareth Bale, Lucas Moura and Carlos Vinicius.
Several first-team players have been rested for this, and with Tottenham already having one foot in the last 16, Mourinho will ring the changes from the weekend’s loss to West Ham.
Harry Kane will be absent from the start, which is another chance for Vinicius, who has already scored four goals in the competition this season.
Son is likely to be the player to drop out of the starting XI for the Benfica borrower.
Lucas Moura has scored two goals in two games but Mourinho may wish to keep him for the Premier League which could mean a start into the attacking midfield trio alongside Dele Alli and possibly Erik Lamela for Steven Bergwijn.
Bale started the first leg but it looks like he will be used more in the league in the future. With his manager claiming he can’t play three times a week, he could rest with the draw that’s basically done and dusted.
Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko will start again in midfield.
Spurs aren’t gifted with too many options right now, but Japhet Tanganga could be used for Eric Dier in the middle of defense.
Giovani Lo Celso and Serge Aurier are the only ones absent.
