Jurgen Klopp hints at Liverpool future for Takumi Minamino
Loan movements for young players are usually intended to help them develop, but once someone is well over 20 years old it is usually a different situation.
It tends to be that these borrowers fall out of favor and have to stand in the shop window for a future transfer – something Takumi Minamino awaits during his loan period at Southampton.
He became a forgotten man at Liverpool as he was slowly being ousted from the first team picture, while the emergence of players like Diogo Jota and Harvey Elliott during his loan period at Blackburn will continue to force him into the pecking order.

He has done well for Southampton but probably not enough to make everyone sit up and take notice, but a report from Goal has shown that he may still play a surprising role next season.
Granted, it might just be Jurgen Klopp trying to keep his value high, but they shared these quotes from Klopp that appeared on Liverpool’s game day schedule tonight for their game against Southampton:
“He did really well there and that’s no surprise. When we allowed him to leave in January it was a difficult task because he is an important player for us and he will undoubtedly be back in the future.
“But the possibilities were short for us at that time and so it made sense for him and us to play elsewhere. Southampton was perfect because Ralph plays and what he demands of his players. “
Minamino has always been a pretty popular player with Liverpool fans and he’s a very good player too, but time will tell if he has enough to get back into Klopp’s plans next year.
