Champions League defending champions Bayern Munich sent a message to the rest of Europe that they are the team to beat again this season with an impressive 4-1 win over Lazio in Rome.

The two teams will play the second leg in Munich in March.

Which players stood out the most during the night?

✔️ Leroy Sane: 7.6

Big things were expected of Sane when he joined Bayern from Manchester City last summer.

The winger hasn’t lived up to expectations yet but showed what an electric talent he is on Tuesday.

Lazios backline just couldn’t cope with the former Schalke star. He scored Bayern’s third goal and began numerous dribbles over the course of the game.

❌ Mateo Musacchio: 5.0

All three starting defenders of Lazio had horror nights. Patric gave Bayern the third goal, Francesco Acerbi scored an own goal for the fourth time, but Musacchio was the worst.

His terribly withheld back pass gave Robert Lewandowski the easy task of rounding Pepe Reina to overcome the impasse.

This opened the floodgates and Musacchio made mistake after mistake until he was picked up with only 31 minutes on the clock.

Another game, another Lewandowski goal.

The Polish superstar has scored an incredible 32 goals in 31 games this season after finding the net again against Lazio.

He used a terrible back pass from Musacchio to open the standings, took the ball around Reina and finished with ease.

Lewandowski, who fought Poland for Italy earlier in the season, won his personal bout against Acerbi tonight.
