Mahrez addresses rumours he might make Arsenal transfer
Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez has crushed any rumors linking him to a shock move to Arsenal this summer.
The Algerian has been touted as a potential target for Mikel Arteta – whom he had worked with during his time as Pep Guardiola’s assistant, as there were some reports in the media that City would like him to leave the club.
The Gunners were also heavily linked to a winger move during his Leicester days before moving to the Premier League champions, and it has been said that Arsenal could rekindle their interest to add some quality to the squad.
Arteta is a man who knows he lacks serious quality in key areas of the pitch and considering that Mahrez is one of the best in the Premier League, a £ 50m move has been discussed in the media.
But despite all speculation that Arsenal are keen on a transfer deal, Mahrez has reiterated his commitment to the Sky Blues after his nation’s 1-0 win over Mali.
He told DZ Sport: “There is nothing about my future. I’m fine in Manchester. I stay God willing. “
Even if Mahrez wants to stay with the club, the media are rumored for a reason and if the right offer comes in from Arsenal or any other club in Europe we are sure City would be open for sale.
But he’s the kind of player Arsenal need to sign. It’s just a shame they don’t have the money to get these types of deals right?
