According to Spanish publication Sport, Manchester United star Donny van de Beek has offered his services to Barcelona as the midfielder is considering a transfer from Old Trafford.

Sport report that the Catalan team are still looking for a midfielder in the market after missing out on Georginio Wijnaldum’s free transfer following his departure from Liverpool, and the ace moved to PSG instead.

The Spanish publication claims that Barcelona have received several proposals in the past few days, one of which Van de Beek offered himself to the La Liga powerhouses.

It is added that Van de Beek’s entourage has told Barcelona that the 24-year-old is “seduced” by the opportunity to play for them, even if it had to be a loan move.

United recruited Van de Beek last summer after the midfielder was impressed by Ajax and parted ways with an initial fee of £ 35m and an additional £ 5m in potential add-ons, according to BBC Sport.

Unfortunately, Van de Beek was used sparingly by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during a frustrating debut season in which the Dutchman made 15 of his 36 appearances in all competitions.

Van de Beek should have a chance this summer to remind everyone of his skills at the European Championships, but another nightmare has befallen the star as he sustained a groin injury that left him completely excluded.

Given that Van de Beek, being sidelined, will not have the opportunity to urge Solskjaer to reconsider his position on the United team, perhaps an exit to get his career going again is now that best possibility.
