Man United stars livid after referee stops counter
The first half of the Premier League clash between West Brom and Manchester United ended very controversially as the Red Devils halted an extremely favorable counter-attack.
Moments after Bruno Fernandes canceled Mbaye Diagnes’ header with a wonderful volley, the Baggies had a corner of their own.
Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher scored a cross that was given to Ainsley Maitland-Niles after a brief routine with Matheus Pereira.
The Arsenal borrower had almost forgotten an almighty moment when his attempt to kick the ball far back failed and was intercepted by Anthony Martial.
When Martial spurred forward and the Baggies had only one player behind them while Maitland-Niles stormed back dangerously, referee Craig Pawson whistled at halftime.
Martial, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani all threw up their arms in disgust at the decision and a clear scoring opportunity was missed.

Victor Lindelof and David de Gea were then spotted talking to the referee, Sam Allardyce’s men were given a pretty happy break after throwing nine men forward for the set piece.
There were some questionable calls in the encounter that afternoon, just like the last time the two sides met, but this time the decision was surprisingly in the Baggies’ favor.
