Man Utd goal Andre Silva stars for Frankfurt once more

Manchester United transfer target Andre Silva showed strong for Eintracht Frankfurt despite a 2-1 loss to Werder Bremen on Friday.

The former Porto and Milan striker scored his tenth goal of 2021 and has competed with Lionel Messi as the leading shooter in Europe since the turn of the year.

His stellar performance wasn’t enough for Frankfurt to get anything out of the game, however, but it was a display that would have caught the attention of suitors across Europe.

Although the striker failed to score, he was Frankfurt’s greatest threat in a game that they largely dominated. Shortly after opening the scoring, he was free in the penalty area, but was turned down from an acute angle.

He finished the match with the most shots, the most shots at target, and the most touches in the box from anyone on the field.

➖ KEEP STABLE

Andre Silva was on such a breathtaking track of individual form that the game on Friday was inconspicuous for its current circumstances.

He finished the game with an FC rating of 7.5, which is only his fifth best score of the year in his 10th game. That in itself is a remarkable and commendable achievement.

He has now scored in his last five games and this was incredibly his second worst rating.

Andre Silva: What’s next?

Frankfurt, whose hopes in the Champions League were shaken by this surprise defeat, will try to recover next week if Stuttgart face another midfield team.

Eight days later they have a big game against defending champions RB Leipzig.

If their top 4 aspirations are not to be shaken any further, they need Andre Silva to keep this incredible streak going. However, if he does, they will do well to stave off the growing interest.
