Manchester United goal provided a brand new contract at Actual Madrid

Manchester United have dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of signature real Madrid Winger Lucas Vazquez. Los Blancos have offered the Spaniard an improved contract to defend against interests Premier League Clubs like Chelsea and especially United.

The 29-year-old striker has been an integral part of the Real team that has dominated Europe in the recent past. He has spent his entire career in Madrid, apart from one season on loan with Espanyol. He came through the Real Academy and has been part of the first team since 2015. Vazquez has won three Champions League, two The league Titles, two UEFA Super Cups and three FIFA Club World Cups.

Winger Zinedine Zidane has mostly used Vazquez as a full-back this season and has done some decent performances. He has two goals and eight assists for his name in 34 appearances this summer. However, his current contract with Santiago Bernabeu expires at the end of the season, making him a free agent this summer.

This prompted United to take note of the situation and make a request about its availability. But it looks like they won’t get their husband this summer.

Vazquez to get an improved contract

According to the Spanish outlet Marca, Real will reward Vazquez for his commitment by offering him a new contract. The club is determined to renew the attacker’s contract by offering him an improved contract.

Los Blancos have offered him £ 84,000 a week, which is an increase from his current salary. Vazquez and his agents are reportedly happy with the offer and are eager to sign the deal. But that will happen at the end of the season.

Real are fairly easy in the right-back position as the club surprisingly sold Achraf Hakimi to Inter last summer. The Moroccan was touted as the club’s future right-back. Alvaro Odriozola returned from his loan game at Bayern after winning the treble there last season. But Zidane doesn’t prefer him. First choice right-back Dani Carvajal was out of action for most of the season due to injury.

Vazquez’s versatility and feel allow him to fill the right-back as well. And he did very well this season. And the reward for his service this season will be a new contract from his youth club.

Big blow for United in pursuing Vazquez?

United’s interest in Vazquez came after it was offered free to other clubs by its agents after failing to agree on a new deal with Real. But now he seems to be staying in the Spanish capital.

The Red Devils wanted Vazquez to cover right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has started the most games this season. But losing the race to Vazquez isn’t a big blow to them.

They still have Diogo Dalot who is currently on loan at AC Milan for the remainder of the season. He has had a decent stint in Italy and can be good cover for Wan-Bissaka. You also have young Brandon Williams. Although the Englishman needs more experience in the first team.

All in all, United shouldn’t be too discouraged about losing Vazquez. Rather, you should focus on improving other key areas in the summer transfer window.
