Millwall followers boo their group for taking the knee
It is sure to be considered one of the most unsavory incidents ever seen on a soccer field.
With fans back in the divisions’ stadiums in England for the first time in nine months, this should have been something of a celebration.
In south London, however, things took a worrying turn before a ball was kicked.
Millwall was hosting Derby County and after the referee whistled as usual, both teams kneeled in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
That clearly disagreed with the home fans, who loudly heard their own team hollow out.
