Parlour sends Rice switch message to Chelsea this summer time
Ray Parlor believes there will be plenty of buyers for Chelsea target Declan Rice this summer.
Thomas Tuchel is eager to revive Chelsea’s bid for Rice after Frank Lampard’s pursuit failed last year, but West Ham is confident of keeping the youngster and has put out a £ 80m prize on his precious possession.
Tuchel is keen to add another midfielder to the roster and add something different to the squad, and Rice is a player with the potential to become a real star for the Blues over the next few seasons
“He was probably one of England’s top midfielders in the final,” Parlor told talkSPORT when asked about rumors that Rice will sign a new deal.
‘He’s a great player. I’m sure they’ll come to an agreement where he’ll sign a new deal, and West Ham will ensure that too.
“So now West Ham will get maximum pay for him if he continues, a bit like Jack Grealish when he signed a big five-year deal.
‘Aston Villa knows someone has to pay a lot of money for Jack and Declan now.’
He added: “I think it’s up to the player and I’m sure Declan Rice will have a lot of buyers after the European Championship.
“But I think another season at West Ham wouldn’t hurt him” [harm], also skipper. It’s a big deal for him. ‘
If Rice stays with the Hammers this summer it will be a good decision as he is still very young and has plenty of time to take this step to play for one of the big clubs in the Premier League
But if he signed for Chelsea, would it be the right move to get right?
