Paul Merson satisfied Chelsea could be eager on re-signing Hazard
Paul Merson said so Chelsea I would not miss the chance to bring former Star Eden Hazard back to Stamford Bridge if given the opportunity.
The Belgian had a staggering seven year tenure at the club. He won seven large pieces of silver, including two Premier League Trophies and two Europa League cups. He was also named PFA Player of the Year in 2014 and PFA Fan Player of the Year in 2018. The 30-year-old was a fan favorite among Chelsea fans.
He moved to Real Madrid for £ 100m in the summer of 2019. He has struggled with multiple injuries since leaving London for Madrid. In his two seasons at the club, he has only played 25 league games and scored three times. His decline in performance is reflected in his career-low WhoScored rating of 6.83.
A reunion with his former employees is due when Real Madrid play against Chelsea in the semi-finals of the Champions League. It’s unclear if Hazard will play. He recently returned to full training after his last injury.

Merson on Chelsea signing Hazard again:
Paul Merson, who is a Chelsea support pundit, has said that if Hazard were available, Chelsea would take him with them immediately. Merson believes Hazard’s big move to Madrid has failed and if there is a chance the Blues should take him back.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Merson spoke of Hazard:
“I would be surprised if he played Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals. He hardly played all season. And why should you switch the team that beat Liverpool so comfortably? The wingers were both electric. If Hazard ever gets back to the form he was in at Chelsea, he can wreak havoc. But I just don’t see it.
Sometimes you have to start well when you take a big step and he doesn’t. And it’s going downhill for him. But Chelsea would take him back. No doubt before he left he was on another planet. It’s sad to see he doesn’t do it in Madrid. But they made him replace Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals and he never would. They wish Chelsea had a clause in which they could take him back because you would do that all day to see him back in the Premier League. ”

12. Take Man Times:
There is no doubt about Hazard’s ability. In the Premier League he was not playable at times. In his last season at the club, he almost brought Chelsea to Europa League glory. But getting him back to Stamford Bridge is a big risk.
Chelsea have a wide variety of attacking skills. Some players like Kai Havertz, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham hardly get any playing time, such as the depth of their attack. Also the rise of Mason Mount this season. The Englishman plays a similar role to Hazard at Chelsea and has been their standout player this season.
And Hazard’s injury problems aren’t due to the changed environment in Madrid. He’s had injury problems in the Premier League too, but not for too long. There is no guarantee he will not have an injury problem if he joins Chelsea again.
Hazard also has tremendous wages, earning more than £ 400,000 a week. And given his contract with Real, which runs until 2024, he won’t be cheap either. As much as Chelsea fans would love to take him back, it is unlikely that he would return.
