Manchester United Midfielder Paul Pogba believes his teammate Marcus Rashford and compatriot Kylian Mbappe are the “future of football”. The two players have been an integral part of their respective teams over the past few years.

Since his first-team debut in 2015, Rashford has made a tremendous impact both on and off the field. The 23-year-old winger has scored the most goals for United since his debut and has made almost 300 appearances for the club. He has already won the Europa League, the FA Cup and the EFL Cup at Old Trafford. The next step for him would be to win that Premier League Title with his youth club.

Mbappe is now one of the best players in the world. Since moving from Monaco in 2017 to Monaco in 2017, he has scored 106 goals in just 123 games for Paris Saint-Germain. He has already won two Ligue 1 titles and several national cup competitions for the French club.

Both players will look to add European awards for their respective teams this season. Rashfords United are just two wins away from their second Europa League triumph in four years, while Mbappe PSG are sacked for the first time in the Champions League this season.

Pogba on Rashford and Mbappe:

Paul Pogba greeted both Rashford and Mbappe. The former Juventus midfielder said both players are “talented stars” and the “future of football”. In a Q&A with United Review, Pogba said:

“You [Rashford and Mbappe] are two great, great talents. You are so young and so talented too. You have achieved so much for your young age. I think they are the present and future of football. ”

Pogba has played 168 games with Rashford, the most he has ever played with a teammate in his career. Both have been key to United this season as they are runner-up in the standings and two wins from their second Europa League title.

While Pogba and Mbappe won the 2018 FIFA World Cup for France, both scored against Croatia in the final. In total, they have played together for Les Bleus 31 times.

Rashford vs Mbappe – who is better?

Before comparing, there are some similarities between the two players. Both are excellent and versatile attackers who can play through the entire attack. They are also excellent dribblers.

Mbappe is arguably one of the best players in the world right now. This season, the 22-year-old striker has scored 25 goals and provided 7 assists in just 25 league starts. He is also the Champions League leading scorer this season with 8 goals. Because of his unreal accomplishments, he received an overall WhoScored rating of 7.58.

Meanwhile, Rashford has also enjoyed a very fruitful campaign. He’s a bit shy about Mbappe’s goal contributions. Only 18 league goals add to his name this season. But that’s mainly because of how United play. He has still scored six Champions League goals this season, which is very impressive as the Red Devils left the competition in the group stage. The Englishman still has a respectable WhoScored 7.18 this season.

Statistically, Mbappe is a better player than Rashford. But both are young and time to develop to keep competing in the future. At the moment, Mbappe only manages to whistle Rashford.
