Rudiger Chelsea contract urged by Tuchel
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly urging the club’s board of directors to do everything possible to secure a new deal with defender Antonio Rudiger.
The German international is proving to be one of Chelsea’s most important players under Tuchel, despite not having played regularly under Frank Lampard before.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Blues can hold Rüdiger for a long time, with the former Roma man now in the last year of his contract.
According to the Daily Express, Tuchel is keen to keep Rüdiger and is calling on the board to resolve their differences over the type of deal the 28-year-old is asking.

The report adds that Chelsea’s rivals Tottenham are among the clubs looking to Rudiger and it would undoubtedly be a heavy blow if such an important player went to a rival.

The Daily Express also claims that big names like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Rudiger, who undoubtedly looks like he is of great value on a free transfer.
Rüdiger was an important part of the Chelsea team that won the Champions League last season so they certainly have to do everything they can to keep him at the club for the long term, especially since Thiago Silva is not getting any younger.
