Saints set Ings value as Man United search for switch deal

Southampton will reportedly consider redeeming Danny Ings if they receive an offer of £ 25m to 30million from Manchester United.

Ings had a phenomenal 2019-20 season with Southampton and was one of the most prominent scorers in the first division, but Ings saw a slight decline in both goals and games this season and scored fewer after nine appearances.

That hasn’t stopped speculation, however, that some of the big clubs are circling a potential transfer deal this summer, with Manchester United being a club that has been linked to a move.

United see Ings as a target this summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to bolster his attacking lines, knowing that Edinson Cavani won’t be able to play every game next season.

According to The Athletic, Ings was reluctant to put a new deal on paper as he waited to see an offer from one of the Premier League’s top teams to sign him.

The report claims that while Ralph Hasenhuttl is keen to keep Ings in place, the decision is out of his hands with an offer of around £ 25 million to £ 30 million, which from Southampton’s point of view is “almost impossible” to turn down can be taken.

Sum up…

United would be a massive step for Ings but at the end of the day, at this stage in his career, it would be the wrong move as he would get less playing time than he is now

So isn’t a move to United just financially right?
