Scholes urges Man United to signal Haaland or Kane
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has asked the club to make a move for Harry Kane or Erling Haaland in the transfer window.
Edinson Cavani underscored his worth to Manchester United with another brace against Roma in the Europa League semi-finals, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted he hopes to keep the striker this summer
Cavani is at the very end of his top game days, however, and Scholes have asked the club to sign a longer-term response to the striker. Haaland and Kane are the two strikers most involved in moving to Old Trafford.
Former United midfielder Scholes told BT Sport about the forward situation in Manchester: “United are a club that will have to sign a real center forward for the next five years. I’m talking about Kane or Haaland.
“Cavani is slowing down when it comes to fitness and injuries, that might not be great. He hasn’t played many games this season but has scored goals when he has played.
“Then you talk about the other players… Can any of the other players become a center forward? I really can’t see it. When you talk about center forward I see Kane and Haaland.
“[Anthony] Martial, [Mason] Greenwood and [Marcus] Rashford I just don’t see them as a center forward. They are broad players. “
Cavani has been brilliant this season and it’s easy to see why the club want to keep him but surely the fans will agree with Scholes this season?
