Thomas Tuchel ‘ Chelsea The team beat FC Porto 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League on Thursday evening. The Blues recorded a healthy two-goal lead in the second leg. In addition, there are two away goals, despite the fact that the game was played in a neutral location.

Thomas Tuchel presented a very different team than the one that was facing the loss to West Bromwich Albion. Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Andreas Christensen begin.

Even if Chelsea are the stronger team on paper, you can never underestimate your opponent in the UEFA Champions League. Everything can happen. So it was very important for Chelsea to get a strong start to the game.

For most of the game, the sides were equally in agreement. Both FC Porto and Chelsea had the same chances. The difference, however, lay in the fact that Chelsea were clinically successful but the Portuguese club were not.

Mason Mount opened the scoring with a piece of individual brilliance for Chelsea. Jorginho passed the ball to Mount, who took it for the first time and immediately made a turn to leave the defender behind.

This opened up space for him and he shot for the first time to shoot past the goalkeeper. Many can say that Porto goalkeeper Marchesin could have done better, but it remained an advantage for Chelsea nonetheless.

Fc Porto had many chances and they should at least have equalized with one of them. Defender Pepe had an open header in the final moments of the first half with Mendy dipping to his left to save.

The most likely chance, however, had striker Marega, who caught Antonio Rüdiger nap and scored the goal. Once again Eduoard Mendy quickly closed the corner and blocked the shot.

Left-back Ben Chilwell put the final nail in the coffin as he scored Chelsea’s second goal in the 85th minute. Chilwell took the ball from Jesus Corona and walked all the way past the goalkeeper to bring in the ball. Understandably, coach Thomas Tuchel is extremely satisfied with the performance.
