Tottenham Hotspur Eyeing Luka Modric Reunion
Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly contacted Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric to bring him back to north London.
The Croatian played four seasons for the Lilywhites and became one of the league’s most sought-after players. In 2012 he moved to Real Madrid, where he established himself as one of the best players in the world and won four Champions League titles, a World Cup Golden Ball and a Ballon d’Or.
Modric has become a superstar at Real Madrid
At 35, Modric still achieves an incredibly high standard and certainly still has a lot to offer potential applicants.
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has contacted the veteran midfielder about a possible return to his previous club, according to Spanish football show El Chiringuito TV. The Portuguese previously worked with Modric after signing him for Real Madrid in 2012.
Modric’s current contract expires in summer, so it may be available cheaply in January or free in summer. His addition would massively bolster Spurs’ hopes for the Premier League title.
However, it is believed that the player would be happy to stay at the Bernabeu. Marca reported back in October that Modric would like to retire at Real Madrid. Additionally, Los Blancos are apparently in talks with the 35-year-old about a new deal.

The World Cup finalist has appeared in 13 of Real Madrid’s 14 league games so far, starting at 11. Given the overwhelming start to defending the title, it is unlikely she would let any of her star men go mid-season so any move would probably be in summer.
