Van Der Sar talks changing Woodward at Man United
Edwin van der Sar leaves the door open so he can return to Manchester United.
Chairman Ed Woodward is stepping down from his role in the club after the Super League fiasco was announced a few days ago. Various candidates will follow in his footsteps including Van der Sar, who has seen a move Manchester argued.
Van der Sar told ESPN about the speculation that links him to United: “It’s nothing new to me, my name has been around for a long time.”
He added his future, although nothing is currently excluded: “[With] At work and under pressure, you should have a feeling for the club.
“I could do the things Ronald de Boer does – he works for us at Ajax and here for you too. He has more freedom than me, he has a good life.
“The pressure is different and I’m not going to work in a club where I don’t have a feeling. I could only do that for Ajax or United. I wouldn’t work for other clubs.
“I am very satisfied with our performance [developed] Ajax in recent years. Ten years ago we had ambitions to reach the top of Europe. We achieved that. We had to work really hard, we don’t have a rich owner and the government hasn’t helped us. “
At the moment he is fully focused on his role in Amsterdam and the desire to finish “perfectly” when the day comes to take on a new challenge.
He added, “A European award is something that triggers me.”
