West Ham affirm the signing of Pierre Ekwah from Chelsea
There has been a lot of talk about possible transfers in the past few weeks, but the transfer window is now officially open and clubs can make announcements to confirm their commitments.
One player who has been heavily associated with West Ham was talented Chelsea midfielder Pierre Ekwah, and he’s now officially a West Ham player after the club announced his arrival:
We are pleased to announce the signing of the promising French midfielder Pierre Ekwah.
Welcome to the club, Pierre! ?

They confirm that he is coming for an undisclosed fee for a three-year contract with the option of an extra year, while playing for West Ham’s U23 side during a probationary period last year, where he also scored against Arsenal.
They describe him as a “strong defensive midfielder” who can also play in defense, while mentioning that his development will continue with the club and in the academy, suggesting that he is not currently viewed as an option for the first team will team stage.
They also quote Ekwah as saying he wants to play as a box-to-box midfielder while talking about his admiration for Mark Noble and Declan Rice so that he can hopefully learn from them and move on to a role on the senior line-up.
